Bolted L

She traced the window with her finger. She had her back to him and she didn’t want to turn around. If she did, she’d fall for him all over again. He had done nothing but make her feel like she was trapped, bolted closed just like this window she touched.

“You can’t be serious. We’re through?” he sounded so hurt. He should’ve seen this coming.

“I have my strength, I have my pride, I don’t want you anymore.” She choked that last part out. Hopefully he didn’t notice her falter, or he’d play into that and convince her all over again. She needed to keep her strength.

“Fine…. fine, I understand, I guess.” He turned and walked off.

She was free.
